Welcome to Katnook Cellar Door, where you can experience our award winning service, wines and ‘walk in’ Terra Rossa walk-in pit, showcasing Coonawarra’s famous soil profile. This helped us win the  2015, 2017, 2018 and 2019  'Australian Gourmet Traveller Wine' awards for Coonawarra Wine Experiences. See the profound effect the earth has on our wine styles.

Our knowledgeable, friendly staff welcome you daily for, experiences, education and tasting of Katnook wines.  

You’ve travelled a long way - so we make sure that all our wines are available for you, including our rare Odyssey and Prodigy releases.

We have level access from our carpark to the tasting and function area.  

Delicious local cheese and produce platters are available for sale. Book online  

You are welcome to bring your own picnic and enjoy in our dedicated area overlooking the vines. Our wines are available by the glass and bottle to purchase and enjoy. 

Adjacent to our Cellar Door bar is a comfortable lounge area, with a fire crackling in winter. This is the perfect sanctuary to savour our wines, cheese and coffee, while perusing wine books and magazines.  

Stepping back in time to the days when John Riddoch managed his Coonawarra business from this magnificent historic limestone building is all part of the fun.

Enjoy the beautiful vistas across our vineyards from the Cellar Door - a perfect spot to stretch your legs on a long car journey.

Children are kept happy with our famous box of toys, freeing you up to focus on your wine tasting experience. 

There's even a water bowl for our four legged visitors.  Everyone is welcome at Katnook.

Directions

You will find Katnook on the Riddoch Highway, 6.6km north of Penola on the left side.  Coonawarra is 450km from Melbourne, 370km from Adelaide and 80km inland from the Southern Ocean.  Check here for map.
